Celebrating 30 Years:
2014 Planting Hope Gala
Written by Plant With Purpose on October 14, 2014 in General
On Saturday night we celebrated thirty years of God’s faithfulness to Plant With Purpose. Tom Woodard, the founder of Plant With Purpose, shared how the seed of an idea became an organization. What started as a way to provide jobs to the rural poor in the Dominican Republic has grown into a holistic development organization helping over 19,600 families restore their environments, provide for their children, and live with God-given hope and dignity.
During the Gala, we celebrated the people who were foundational to Plant With Purpose’s growth. Don Adrian was recognized as the first recipient of the Adrian Award for Exceptional Service, an award that will be granted annually in honor of the Adrian’s legacy of exemplary leadership and service.
Through the generosity of all those in attendance, over $370,000 was raised to continue the work that is changing lives and land around the world. This event exceeded our expectations, both in number of guests attending and funds raised. We are humbled by the generosity and love of the Plant With Purpose family.
The night can be summed up in the words of Jan Farley, Associate Pastor of Village Church:
“God bless the vision that launched and has sustained Plant With Purpose.
This is a way to honor God, His creation, and God’s people.”
Thank you for honoring God with us through your support!
