Doubling Your Impact After June 30th

With the matching donation campaign coming to a close in less than 48 hours, how can we double our impact throughout the year in our day to day lives? It’s a question that has been on my mind lately: how do we carry on the inspiration from our generous supporters to amplify our giving after June 30th?

To give means to transfer or relinquish something without the expectation of receiving something in return. The beauty of the matching campaign is that giving as such is easy to measure; things like money, time, and resources often are. But in many modalities of giving, our efforts can be unquantifiable and hard to monitor. When we listen, when we care, when we share our love and our talents, we are transferring or sharing intangible gifts that make our communities a better place.

It’s a fairly straightforward process to increase your alms giving or offering at your place of worship, to donate more or more frequently to your favorite charities, or volunteer more time to organizations in your community. The challenge is to find new opportunities to double your giving when you are in fellowship, in the presence of strangers, and within your own family.

Start small by helping someone with their bags at the grocers, buy the person behind you in line at Starbucks a cup of coffee, smile at the people who cross the street at the stoplight. By sharing our positive energy and the light of the Word, we can watch our day to day impact start to grow exponentially. Small actions that are born of compassion start a chain reaction and pay the duty forward to others to increase their giving.

The challenge is on! We’d love to hear how YOU are doubling your impact after the matching donation campaign that ends tomorrow, June 30th!

**All gifts made to Plant With Purpose before June 30th will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $75,000 by a group of generous supporters, helping propel our programs forward and support our San Diego operations. Find out more here: http://tinyurl.com/3qwvv7v
