Party With Purpose

Are you looking for a good excuse to throw a party?

We were, so we gathered for an evening of home-cooked Haitian food, twinkling lights, and laughter. The best part? Our party had a greater purpose.

Party With Purpose is just what it sounds like: a celebration with friends that contains a bigger mission. These festivities raise funds and awareness for Plant With Purpose’s programs, whether by encouraging friends to join Root 7 or simply by sharing stories of transformation. The Party With Purpose Kit contains everything you need to make party planning a breeze, including a hosting resources sheet, invitations, story tents, table cards, and recipes. All that’s left for you to do is pick the date, time, and who to invite!

At our party, we displayed the story tents and table cards as decór to highlight the changed lives of partnering families. Lights, a few jars of flowers, and a basket of fresh produce rounded out the scene.

Our favorite resource in the Party With Purpose Kit is the international recipes. The handpicked assortment features representative dishes from each partnering country. For our dinner, we cooked Haitian rice and beans, spicy Creole chicken, and Blanc Manger (coconut custard) for dessert. We’re still not sure what was more fun: cooking together or discovering how delicious Haitian cuisine is. For your own party, enjoy trying some of the recipes from Tanzania, Thailand, or one of Plant With Purpose’s other country programs.
