Please join our international family on the first Friday of the month to pray for the physical and spiritual wellbeing of partnering farming families, Plant With Purpose staff, supporters, and international programs.

Burundi

We praise God for:

  • His provision as we’ve adjusted our budget so that we can continue serving our partnering communities. We also give thanks to God for the sacrifices that the staff made to keep all aspects of the program running during these uncertain times.

We pray for:

  • A fruitful and productive time for country director Lazare as he works on research and writing projects at Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
  • Aline as she steps into the role of Deputy Director. We pray that this transition will go smoothly and that additional staff will have the chance to take on new responsibility.
  • Noe’s son who is struggling with epilepsy. We pray that he will find some relief, but also that he will continue to be an example of strong faith and trust in God despite his challenge.
  • The success of the tree nursery for the watershed restoration program. Community members collected several indigenous seed varieties, which we hope will grow successfully.

Dominican Republic

We praise God for:

  • His protection as we distributed the savings at the closing of the Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) group cycles.

We pray for:

    • VSLA members to successfully implement the information received at workshops on generating income.
    • The Lord to help us finalize the agroforestry project that is taking place on the border in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment.
    • The spiritual growth of teachers and those who participate in our Bible Study Ministry.
    • The development of greenhouses in partnering communities. Pray that they will produce abundant crops.

Haiti

We praise God for:

      • The provisions and wisdom for hiring three new staff members

We pray for:

      • Wisdom and discernment as the new employees integrate with the staff and programs. Pray that they will help Plant With Purpose Haiti impact many lives.
      • The political leaders of Haiti to have wisdom as they seek to protect the country against a potential political crisis during the January 2014 elections.
      • Our time at the Caribbean ECHO Conference sharing about our programs. We also pray that we can help program attendees learn new farming techniques that will help even more families.

Mexico

We praise God for:

      • The blessing of ministry training that our staff member Elizabeth recently received.
      • Protecting and taking care of our staff and partnering farmers as they accomplish the work of Plant With Purpose.
      • Stabilizing the health of Mr. Jose Luis Camacho, the father of our staff member Claudia.
      • The care that was given to Milmer during his visit to the program.
      • The groups that have come to visit our program, including the recent guests who visited us on a Vision Trip in October.

We pray for:

      • The community of Ojo de Agua. We pray for their safety, their development as a community, and for the leaders who act as community advocates.
      • The health of our coworker Graciela.
      • The expansion of the Mexico program into the highlands of Chiapas. We pray specifically for the work of Juan Carlos and Pastor Thomas.

Tanzania

We praise God for:

      • The success of the Farmer Field Schools in Tanzania. As groups research the effectiveness of bio-intensive gardens, they have found a 64 percent increase in crop yield. We are all learning about new techniques in the process!

We pray for:

      • The many new groups in Siha and Same districts. We hope that through VSLA, training in sustainable agriculture, and partnerships with local churches, families will be able to better provide for themselves and change their circumstances.
      • The planning of the upcoming group competition that will take place in early December. During November, groups across the Kilimanjaro region will be focusing on large-scale tree planting campaigns with their churches, schools, and community groups.

Thailand

We praise God for:

      • The opportunity for Plant With Purpose Thailand staff and partners to attend and provide workshops at numerous conferences throughout October focusing on holistic ministry, community development, sustainable agriculture, and Creation Care.
      • The activities of women’s groups within their communities. Continue praying for their projects that include: women literacy projects, health projects, women networking activities, and awareness training to communities on gender.
      • The environmental network in Chiang Rai as it does work at the political level and activities at their community level.
      • The new board of Plant With Purpose Thailand. Continue praying for the process of Plant With Purpose Thailand becoming a registered foundation.
      • The successful meetings with target villages on reviewing of the activities, projects, programs, and need assessment. Continue praying for the next phases of projects.

We pray for:

      • The preparation for and successful visit with a variety of groups this month including people from Inspired Individuals, U.S. board member Cathi Lundy and her son, and leaders from Capacity Enhancement for Coping with Climate Change from Laos.

USA

      • The hiring process of our new Director of Field Operations as he joins the team in San Diego.
      • The churches and community groups that will be hosting alternative gift markets this Christmas season. Pray for the opportunity to share about Plant With Purpose with new people and pray that people will be generous in choosing to give nontraditional gifts.
