The worth of Plant With Purpose is not found within our unique program. Our value lies in the vast network of supporters, development professionals, donors, farming families, volunteers, and local community members. Individuals at all levels are motivated by their faith in Jesus. Paul shares in 1 Thessalonians:

We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

On the first Friday of the month, Plant With Purpose’s international body lifts up prayers and praises from across our programs. Please join us as we pray for those who make up Plant With Purpose, whose faith in action brings labors of love and deep hope.

Burundi

We praise God for:

  • A strong start to the rainy season. Please pray for healthy farms and strong families during the growing period.
  • A renewed partnership with International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC). This is Plant With Purpose’s third year working with IFDC. Please pray that the working agreement develops smoothly.
  • The healthy arrival of a new baby boy born to agronomist Esperance.

We pray for:

  • The program staffing needs. Please pray for wisdom in the hiring processes and stability during this time of transition.
  • The Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) program that has experienced rapid growth in recent months. Pray for wisdom for the team as they work with these groups.
  • Continued health for the team. Pray for team members who have recently experienced loss within their family and also for those who have added to their families through the birth of new children.
  • The new partnership with ActionAid. Please pray that this will be a blessing and support for partnering communities.
  • Opportunities with new donors.

Dominican Republic

We praise God for:

  • An increase in savings for partnering families and the ability to adjust economic services during strong financial seasons.
  • The successful completion of 50 agroforestry farms in the border region, which were established in partnership with the Global Environment Facility.

We pray for:

  • Partnering farmers who are involved in savings groups to become further involved by implementing the sustainable farming techniques they learned.
  • Partnering farmers in the border region as they continue to plant new coffee varieties that are resistant to the coffee rust disease.
  • VSLA members to continue establishing small businesses and improving their income.
  • New partnering communities to experience dynamic transformation in 2015.
  • The Lord to continue guiding the staff of Plant With Purpose to achieve all goals and objectives in the remaining days of 2014.
  • The new church partners in the Ozama region to become leaders of community change.

We praise God for:

  • A safe, smooth, and efficient first quarter of the fiscal year.

We praise God for:

  • The rainy season. Pray that the rains will continue into the next few months, as it becomes tree-planting season.
  • Wisdom for the strategic planning workshop taking place in November.
  • The organic certification process that now involves 1,140 family farms.
  • The continued health of our staff.

We pray for:

  • The coming group competition in January. Over the past few years this event has been highly successful in motivating communities to be active in planting trees, conserving delicate watershed areas, improving farms, saving money through VSLAs, and engaging schools and churches in community change. Please pray that the excitement for change will continue to grow with this year’s event.
  • The staff’s spirits as they daily work long hours during this busy time of the year.

Pray that God will lead the team to strengthen the ministry in Thailand and reach people throughout Southeast Asia.
